Bungou Stray Dogs is a Japanese seinen manga series that has been serialized in the magazine Young Ace since 2012. The story focuses on a young adult named Atsushi Nakajima. After being kicked out of his orphanage, Atsushi accidentally stops the suicide of a detective named Osamu Dazai believing he was drowning in the river. During his interactions with Dazai, Atsushi learns he is gifted with a supernatural ability capable of transforming him into a berserker white tiger in the moonlight; this made the orphanage torture him and kick him out in the past. John Steinbeck is a Guild member with the ability The Grapes of Wrath. Steinbeck appears to be a relaxed and easygoing man. Nevertheless, he is in no way a lazy person, as he is capable enough to carry the missions given to him. Although he may be polite and kind, he shows no regard for his enemies, claiming to not care about what he has to do to them. At the same time, he is not an entirely bad person, driven by the motivation of doing his job for his family.
