Fan Casting Bug-Eyes

Imagine metamorphosis or the flu but they liked becoming a bug. After swallowing a seemingly dead radioactive yellowjacket as a dare, and being stung repeatedly man slowly transforms into a bug and decides to use it for publicity and fame. He awakens in the hospital with enlarged black black eyes. As his body progressively becomes more big like his thoughts and instincts also become bug like. By the end of the story he has fully transitioned to bug brain and is shot to death after killing and eating people.
