Leyla Aydın, 33, has designed Istanbul's most significant contemporary infrastructure — bridges, cultural centers, the new national library. She is recognized internationally, adored in Turkey, and has been in love with her business partner Kerem for six years without ever saying it. When an international commission requires Leyla and Kerem to collaborate on a project in Paris — eighteen months, same office, same city, away from Istanbul's social buffer — the six years of unspoken feeling finally have nowhere to hide.
