After helping the Justice League alongside Mister Terrific and the Atom, Ted Kord decides he deserves a little vacation. The setting is perfect: Kord Industries is doing great, seeing an increase in its market cap, and his girlfriend Melody is checking out where they could travel. But Ted's peace and rest are quickly thrown down the drain when fate decides to collide him with Michael Jon Carter, a masked braggart from the future, in search of fame. As if that were not enough, Doctor Shocker decides to reappear from the shadows again along with other enemies of Kord, causing the Blue Beetle to decide to put his differences with Carter aside to count on his help, especially after Melody is still kidnapped by the villains.
