After the events of the Booster Gold movie Ted Kords mentor Dan Garret Passed Away leaving all his possessions to Ted when going through it all he finds a scarab with a very specific instruction saying "DO NOT TOUCH" but going against that he picks the bug up and it sticks to him and forges a bullet proof suit and gave him all sort of powers, but it also sent a beacon to a far out prison someone else our universe with a scarab of their own the menacing Black Beetle who comes to earth and chaos ensues but Ted under the name his mentor used the Blue Beetle realised he can't stop the monster himself and he calls the only person he knows who could help... BOOSTER GOLD. Together they take down the foe and agree when either of them needs help the other will always be there to lend a hand.
