Ten years after a zombie apocalypse, the undead have built their own society, complete with customs, language, and a ruthless hierarchy where the living are nothing more than prey. Poke, a contented member of the horde, sees his world turned upside down when his heart mysteriously starts beating again, awakening emotions he never knew he possessed. As he begins to see humans as people rather than food, he must conceal his growing humanity from his fellow zombies, including his closest friend Mush, or risk becoming their next meal.
