  • misterwolf Plot: Long ago, there was a team of superheroes called Greywatch, and they fought against the rogue AI named "Peacekeeper". However, they had lost and most of them were killed, while the only surviving member, Sovereign, had disappeared. The Aetherium Legion has been formed as a means to try and control this AI, but what the world and the governments do not know is that the Legion is full of corrupt Leftists with little care about innocent lives. The few people who do know the truth hope for a new team of heroes to form so the Legion can be defeated and Peacekeeper can be destroyed.

  • misterwolf A brilliant but disgraced detective named Harley River and her Japanese best friend Rila Hasashi, also a disgraced detective, operate on unorthodox methods to continue their unsolved investigations, and are often warned by their former superiors to stay out of their business as the cases were let go before they resigned. However, they have already won the people's favor and sympathies for their ways, and despite the authorities not caring if they did, Harley and Rila refuse their warnings. Meanwhile, Greek businessman Demetrius is often at odds with the Legion despite being a Leftist himself and agreeing that superheroes need regulation, though he is somewhat Right-winged as well. Chancellor Michael Edmund, who is also Harley's British paternal grandfather, reluctantly declares that Peacekeeper will be updated, evolved, and expanded, much to Harley and Rila's frustration.

  • misterwolf Javier Santiago, known as Storm Master, the leader of the Legion, realizes that Harley and Rila are close to uncovering that all of the cases they were investigating were actually orchestrated by him. Scheming to frame the duo, Santiago plants false evidence throughout numerous murder scenes, enabling the authorities to arrest them. However, Harley and Rila are much smarter than what meets the eye, and they intentionally get arrested, as they know riots would form if something like this happened. Now imprisoned, Harley and Rila expertly craft their escape plan, and later meet two men: Mark Wilson, a PTSD-riddled US Army veteran, and Kevin Harris, an engineer who was framed for the crimes of federal offense and financial fraud. The two women clash with the men, the latter believing that the prison is inescapable. However, as the plan comes to further fruition, they reluctantly agree to join Harley and Rila.

  • misterwolf Meanwhile, riots begin outside of the prison, and the more reasonable police officers join in. A fight in the entire prison erupts, but unbeknownst to the people, Demetrius is also there, having admired Harley and Rila's work. Leaving messages for the group to find, they follow the arrow marks, leading them directly out of the prison, while the riot cheers for their escape, leaving the authorities defeated. Finding Demetrius as they continue on, they follow him to his penthouse in New York City. After a peaceful conversation, Demetrius suggests that they work with him to find the truth about the Legion. Although initially hesitant, they agree to work together after he suggests that they could destroy Peacekeeper if they do this.

  • misterwolf While the four begin their investigations, Demetrius stays behind and recruits a human-turned-alien, Quantum Overseer, formerly Robert Zane. After the four others return, the group consider how to destroy Peacekeeper. Overseer reveals that he had reluctantly helped create it, as its core contains the energy of his powers, thus revealing that if he destroys it, it would demolish the entire city. The group continue the investigation, this time all six of them working together, and they find out that Sovereign is still alive. However, they are soon ambushed by Santiago and his second-in-command Harold Walsh, known as The Stranger, as well as their comrades. Santiago traps the group in a rubble, and then mocks their moral codes, causing Walsh to question the Legion's sense of honor.

  • misterwolf An argument forms between the group, and it becomes heated. However, it stops when Harley reveals that her older brother was murdered two years ago, and adds that every crime that she and Rila tried to solve leads back to what happened to him. Overseer speculates that Harley's brother was killed by Santiago when she points out that he was electrocuted. Sympathizing with Harley and Rila, they apologize to her and agree to help her find answers after they finish their quest to destroy Peacekeeper. Demetrius also agrees to be their leader, and they free themselves from the rubble. After they find a lead to Sovereign's whereabouts, they arrive at a farm in Albany, and are welcomed by its owner, Jonathan Glass.

  • misterwolf Glass reveals that he is indeed Sovereign, but has long retired due to his team being long dead. He also reveals that Santiago was one of them until he betrayed the team and killed them all; unbeknownst to Santiago, Glass survived. Seeing superheroes in all six of the people in front of him, he urges them to save the world and destroy Peacekeeper. Glass crafts costumes for them all, calling Harley "Nocturnal", Rila "Azure Ronin", Wilson "The Reaper" and Harris "Techno Knight", while bestowing the name of "Sovereign" to Demetrius. Santiago and the Legion attack the farm and kill Glass, but Walsh, finally realizing who Santiago truly is, abandons him and joins the team to make amends. Meanwhile, Edmund leaves the Grand Council out of regret for keeping Peacekeeper active, but is soon killed by Santiago as well when he tries to destroy it.

  • misterwolf Arriving at the headquarters of the Legion, the group, calling their team "Blackwatch", confront Santiago and the remaining Legion, who have murdered the entire Grand Council. A violent battle erupts, destroying much of the tower. Overseer manages to reveal the Legion's true colors, destroying their reputation and turning the public against them. Harley is ambushed by Santiago when she tries to destroy Peacekeeper, engaging in a fierce fight. Harley is outmatched and almost loses, but is saved by Rila, and they outsmart Santiago. Harley and Rila finish him off by throwing him down into Peacekeeper's core, destroying both the AI and Santiago. The building collapses just moments after Overseer carries the entire team out of there.

  • misterwolf In the aftermath, Blackwatch are honored as heroes, while Walsh exiles himself from Earth, knowing that the whole world will want him dead. A heartbroken Harley attends Edmund's funeral and is comforted by Rila and the rest of their friends. Before the end credits roll, Harley and Rila finally kiss, becoming soulmates at long last.
