During the summer of 1931, a monstrous storm hits a small town in Wyoming. This storm was a cover for Martians to pass through the lightning, into their hidden Tripods they've buried underground millions of years ago. A young teen Ryan is one of the only survivors of the following attack, he eagerly searches for his family, who he lost contact with during the storm. It takes him 1 year to eventually find them. Having to go through the fall, winter, and spring. All the while being hunted down by these Tripods.read more

Ryan and Tina meet Pearson on the road. It's clear that Pearson is in a lot of distress after losing his son during the attack. After about 30 minutes of Pearson tagging along, he is abducted and harvested by a Tripod.
