Hiro Hamada, a robotics prodigy, lives in San Fransokyo with his older brother Tadashi and their Aunt Cass. After losing their parents, Hiro drifts into underground robot battles until Tadashi encourages him to apply to the prestigious San Fransokyo Institute of Technology, where Tadashi is developing Baymax — an intelligent healthcare robot.

When a mysterious fire kills Tadashi, Hiro is devastated. But after discovering that his microbots have been stolen and are being controlled by a masked villain named Yokai, he teams up with Baymax and Tadashi’s friends to form a high-tech superhero team.

Driven at first by revenge, Hiro learns that being a true hero isn’t about vengeance — it’s about choosing justice and saving those you can, when you can.
