Young introverted aspiring comic book artist/writer and overall average nobody, Wesley Treacher, inexplicably ends up in a relationship with super-famous pop singer Lexi Safyre, which thrusts him into the public spotlight, making him question both his self-worth and the legitimacy of their relationship. The movie tackles the themes of the obsession with celebrity romances (exploring how people feel about whether celebrities date each other or if a celebrity dates a non-celebrity), scrutiny in the public eye, and finding the courage to stand for whatever or whoever you're passionate about.
