Story Plot
Better Than the Movies is a young adult romantic comedy by Lynn Painter (2021). The novel tells the story of Liz Buxbaum, a senior in high school with a passion for romance movies inherited from her late mother. This coming-of-age story references classic romantic comedy tropes and films as Liz eventually discovers that “happily ever after” is not what or who she expects.
