DCEU Phase 1 TV Show 1
Five years into his crusade, Batman works alongside Robin, Jim Gordon, and Harvey Dent to wage war on Gotham’s criminal underworld. Over the course of a year, the city transforms as traditional mobsters lose power and a new generation of costumed criminals rises. A series of murders leads Batman and Robin to the Joker, whose chaotic attacks plunge Gotham into fear, while psychiatrist Hugo Strange gains influence by publicly attacking Batman and secretly studying him. Barbara Gordon investigates the city’s growing corruption and becomes Batgirl, earning her place beside the Dynamic Duo. Meanwhile, Harvey Dent’s crusade against Carmine Falcone ends in tragedy when acid scars half his face, creating Two-Face and shattering one of Gotham’s greatest hopes. As Scarecrow spreads fear toxin across the city, Batman is forced to confront nightmares of Crime Alley, failure, and losing his family. Robin helps him overcome the psychological assault, strengthening their bond. Strange eventually deduces Batman’s identity and attempts to auction the secret to Gotham’s underworld. Batman, Robin, and Batgirl stop him, while Joker dismisses the revelation with laughter. By year’s end, Falcone is dead, Two-Face and Joker are loose, and supervillains have replaced mobsters as Gotham’s greatest threat. Tempted to isolate himself, Bruce instead embraces his allies and family. Final Scene: Superman arrives in Gotham and compares notes with Batman on a growing number of global anomalies, realizing the world is becoming far stranger than either imagined. Post-Credits: In Arkham, Hugo Strange reviews stolen files on metahumans, extraterrestrials, and an unidentified Martian, realizing Gotham is only one piece of a much larger puzzle.
