The first film of a new Batman franchise. It is about a young and inexperienced Bruce Wayne, who is just learning to become Batman and fight crime in Gotham with the help of his butler, Alfred Pennyworth. It has been less than ten years since Bruce's parents were murdered in front of him when he was a boy. His suit and gadgets are still in their infancy. It has a dark and gritty noir tone to it. The main villains are Victor Zsasz and Carmine Falcone, with David Cain as a minor antagonist. Description of Clayton Troy:

One of the two final mayoral candidates left in the Gotham election along with Gary Hoover, Clayton Troy is an African-American politician who intends to become mayor and use his position to restore order and justice to the corrupted city. He was an accomplished and battle-tested Sergeant in the US Special Forces before transitioning to politics. Unwilling to accept bribes from mobsters wanting to use him as a puppet, he instead forges an alliance with Lieutenant Gordon, Harvey Dent and Batman. He views Batman as a necessity, promoting him as a symbol of hope for Gotham. As he inches closer to victory, Troy is targeted by serial killer Victor Zsasz, who wants to murder him and create chaos.
