Bruce Wayne casts aside the mantle of Batman. When a series of crimes plagues Gotham, he keeps his promise and stays at bay. Terry McGinnis, a teenager whose father was killed because he would expose criminal activities, is rescued by Bruce being beaten up in the street. At the superhero's mansion, Terry discovers the Batcave and the Batman suit, which he takes to capture his father's killers, making Bruce decide to make him the next Batman and train him.
