The first Batgirl, after Joker’s “killing joke” arc, Barbara is left in a wheelchair and takes on the mantle of The Oracle playing a major support role. Barbara gains the use of her legs again by surgically injecting a implantable bio-stimulant chip in her spine, allowing her to get back out into the field in a new suit as the Oracle. She works at the Gotham City Library and is Best friends with Amara Fox, she trains every batgirl even when she was in her wheelchair.
