Broadway, New York. 1929. Joey Drew and Henry Stein founded Joey Drew Studios. Henry was an animator and worked with his friend Joey Drew, making cartoons of Bendy, the studio's mascot, a dancing imp who beat Mickey Mouse at the time, along with many other animators. But after various creative differences and Joey's strange behavior toward his employees, in 1930, Henry Stein left the company and moved to Pasadena, California, to spend more time with his wife Linda. but it was in 1960, that a letter from an old friend brought Henry back to the studios to discover something unexpected
