Synopsis

(DISCLAIMER: THIS TAKES PLACE IN 2012 IN AN ALTERNATE TIMELINE OF THE X-MEN WHERE LAST STAND DOESN'T EXIST) Dark Overlord from 1986 is back. He has taken human form and is stronger than ever. He has attacked S.H.I.E.L.D.'s research facility and has taken what was theorized to be the source of ultimate power along Reed Richards so he can make a portal to lead an alien race called the Chitauri to conquer Earth. But Nick Fury had an idea. Called the Avengers Initiative. And he has chosen heroes like Wolverine, Daredevil, Elektra, Spider-Man as the leader, and Howard the Duck as the Dark Overlord expert on the team. But tensions rise as they uncover secrets that S.H.I.E.L.D. had kept. Will the heroes unite and put their differences aside? Or will the Dark Overlord open the portal and the Chitauri invade Earth?

Description of Howard the Duck:

When they were able to, Howard and his human wife Beverley Switzer moved to Duckworld because Earth was getting too crazy. Because he was off-planet, what was 25 years for Earth was only days for Howard. S.H.I.E.L.D. used the same thing that brought Howard here to Earth to see if he can help them fight the Dark Overlord.
