Arthea Curry has always been different. Her father was an honorable king of atlantean descent, while her mother, a simple human lighthouse keeper. They met after he fled to land, running from his forced fiancée. A few years later, Arthea is a toddler, when her father was forcefully and reluctantly taken back to Atlantis, where he was believed to be executed. Fast forward and Arthea is now an adult. After learning the truth, Arthea must discover the full potential of her true destiny, she sets out to find a queen's lost trident with Meru, a guardian of Atlantis, and try to stop an entire war started by her half sister, Orma, before it even starts. In doing so Arthea must become Aquawoman in order to save Atlantis and the surface World from Orma's evil plot.
