Arthur, now seperated from Mera rules Atlantis and commands for peace between the surface world and Atlantis, drawing flak from different sections of Atlantis. Corum Rath , an ancient sorcerer and extremist who doesn't recognise Arthur as a true Atlantean, sparks a civil war and aided by another villain Siren, challenges Arthur's throne . He defeats Arthur in the challenge by means of sorcery and tries to kill him, which he survives. He now needs to rely on his bare abilities to fight back and reclaim Atlantis from the new radical, tyrant ruler.
