In 1987, British director Alan Bridges started filming a film version of Stephen King's 1982 novella "Apt Pupil", but the project was never carried out, despite King said the existing part of the film was "very good". This is how I imagined it. In 1974, 13-year-old Nazism and Shoah-obsessed Todd Bowden finds out that his elderly German neighbor is actually Kurt Dussander, a feared Nazi war criminal, but the boy doesn't denounce him and they two become friends. With years passing, the Nazi and the student start murder innocent homeless people...
