Ant-Man and the Wasp is a 2014 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the characters Hank Pym / Ant-Man and Janet Van Dyne / Wasp. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Paramount Pictures, it is the sequel to Ant-Man (2011) and the eighteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Edgar Wright and written by the writing teams of Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, and Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. It stars Patrick Wilson as Hank Pym and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Janet van Dyne, alongside Paul Rudd, Michael Peña, Walton Goggins, Patton Oswalt, Penélope Cruz, David Dastmalchian, Tip "T.I." Harris, Judy Greer, Bobby Cannavale, Kathryn Newton, Randall Park, Abby Ryder Fortson, Charlie Hunnam and Leslie Odom Jr. In the film, Hank Pym is ready to marry Janet Van Dyne but the wedding must be put on halt when someone steals the Ant-Man suit to steal for a new criminal mastermind called MODOK.
