Synopsis

The story of Alexander the great (at least in two movies) told step by step and on a 360° view. Alexander was only 20 when inherited the throne of Macedon. Two years later he started a campaign against the mighty Persian Empire, conquering it in less than 10 years, without a single defeat in battle. He died in mysterious circumstances at the age of 32 in Babylon. Probably the best option is to divide the film in three chapters: one about his childhood and the relationship with his parents, one about the events leading to Gaugamela, one about the campaigns in the eastern part of the empire until his death.

Description of Memnone of Rhodes:

Memnon of Rhodes was a mercenary general in service of King Darius III. He was really trusted by the King, but not by the satraps of Asia Minor. He proposed to them to use the tactic of scorched land against Alexander and isolate him from his supplies back to Greece, but the satraps of Frigia and Lydia wanted to attack as soon as possible. So the Persian army was defeated at the battle of River Granicus. Memnon lost the trust of Darius and he was obliged to send his wife Barsine in Babylon. Despite this, he tried his best to stop Alexander, at Miletus and Alicarnassus (losing after harsh fights), he tried to cut his supply lines, but died during a siege in Lesbos.
