In 1941, some years after the world success of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves", Walter Lantz, creator of Woody Woodpecker, planned to make his full-length animated feature, an adaptation of the Aladdin fairytale, starring the most famous comedy duo of the time: Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, who had already signed a contract with Universal.
