Dr. Victor North is a grieving biomedical scientist obsessed with reversing death after the tragic loss of his wife and son in a car accident. Working at a cutting-edge biotech company, North secretly conducts illegal experiments using neural mapping, synthetic organs, and cybernetic enhancements to create a "new life." Victor successfully animates Subject Zero, a human-like creature composed of salvaged body parts and experimental technology. But Zero is not the idealized being Victor imagined—he is sentient but physically grotesque, psychologically fractured, and plagued by memories of the people whose parts now comprise him. As Zero becomes increasingly self-aware, he begins to resent Victor for bringing him into existence and treating him as an experiment rather than a living being. Meanwhile, the biotech company discovers Victor’s secret project, leading to a violent confrontation that forces Victor and Zero to go on the run.
