The storyline follows Meg a young, everyday middle schooler who alongside her little brother Charles are pulled into an alternate reality in persuit of finding their missing father. A mysterious stranger later wisks them into a foreign land controlled by the evil unknown a sentient force of nature that turns everyone into a uniform slave. He is known by many names including IT yet can be vanquished due to his allergy to love that Meg exploits to save her brother.
