In a dystopian setting, Cal Madden, a bodyguard assigned by birth, is assigned to Great One, Della. Della, the second Great One in their corrupt society, hates that she has to live up to the person she replaced, Yan. Another Great One, Elliott, comes into play, revealing himself to be something far sinister than what they believed. With many secrets being revealed, and many problems surfacing, more feelings arise. Whether it be anger, love, fear, hatred, hope. Whatever it is, it's there. The question is, can the right people get their happily ever after? Or will the wrong people win afterall?
