Born into a modest, hard-working family, Charles climbed the local political ladder through sheer persistence. He started as a union organizer and made his way into local politics, becoming a city councilman and later aiming for mayor. Charles worked hard to craft an image of the self-made man, but behind the scenes, he was deeply insecure about his humble roots. He pushed Artie toward public life, wanting him to carry on the family’s new legacy.
