First appeared in Black Hammer #1 in 2016 and was created by Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston. After being rejected from the US Army during World War II, Abraham Slamkowski was trained by a boxer named Punch Socklingham, who was murdered by criminals. In order to avenge Punch, Abe donned a suit and dubbed himself Abraham Slam, fighting crime. He would continue to fight crime for decades until defeating the Anti-God and ending up seemingly trapped in the town of Rockwood with several other heroes who fought alongside him. He is a homage to Golden Age superheroes.
