Character Description
Physicist Ray Palmer had one night stumbled on a meteor made of what he discovered was white dwarf star matter. Focusing it into a lens, Ray could shrink items, but they would explode. To save his girlfriend Jean Loring and some students, Ray used the lens on himself, shrinking to save them from a cave-in. When he saw he didn't explode, Ray would adapt the belt and form a costume, becoming the Atom, the Mighty Mite, and one of the world's most recognized scientists as well as a key part of the Justice League.
