Matilda, originally known as the White Bird, is a character that appears in the Angry Birds series. She is a white bird and a member of the Angry Birds. Matilda is a pacifist and, as the "mother hen" of the flock, takes good care of the other birds with her homemade meals and medicine. However, she is also extremely short-tempered, and any criticism of her food or destruction of the environment drives her to an uncontrollable rage. The character first appeared in Poached Eggs in the original Angry Birds, thus being the first female character in the series. Being a chicken,[8] Matilda is able to lay explosive eggs to destroy pig structures when furious. Since her debut, she has been a recurrent member of the franchise's cast.
