An unexplained cataclysm suddenly destroys civilization, wiping out most of humanity and rendering most landmasses uninhabitable. However, a lone naval warship that was out at sea at the time manages to survive the end and must forge a path ahead into the unknown dangers of the new post-apocalyptic world while its crew deals with the realization that the world they once knew and everything in it is no more.
