Synopsis

Shadow is one of the most popular characters in the entire canon of the Sonic franchise. But his rejected concept design Terios has finally come to being and has unleashed his wrath upon the world, going down a path of revenge similar to Shadow's in Sonic Adventure 2, but darker, more powerful, and a lot more threatening. His hatred was not for the world, nor its people for he cares nothing about them. But his fury was centralized for Shadow and Shadow alone, believing that Shadow is the weaker Ultimate Lifeform. Shadow not only challenges Terios to a battle that will determine who is the TRUE Ultimate Lifeform, but promises to protect the planet from Terios' wrath.

Description of Turning point of story (Shadow’s return):

Rouge had to escape to the Space Colony ARK after Shadow’s defeat. She cried and cried and cried over the loss of her friend. Then, a flash of light went off somewhere in the hallway. Rouge went to investigate, and what she saw was unbelievable: Shadow was alive! Sure, he was slightly bleeding and has some broken bones and bruises, but he’s alive! Shadow said, weakly “Rouge?” Then he fainted from his injuries. Later, Rouge took him to the medical room and patched his wounds. Shadow woke up and felt like a failure. But Rouge, filled with hope now that Shadow’s back, encouraged him, saying that they still have a chance. Now Shadow wants to reclaim his right as the Ultimate Lifeform!
