Synopsis

Ash Ketchum is a boy from Pallet Town, who dreams of becoming a Pokémon Master, like his hero Red Tajiri. However, on the day to get his first Pokémon, he arrives late and he ends up receiving a rebellious Pikachu. However the two will learn to respect one another and see themselves as brothers. Ash and Pikachu, alongside Gym Leaders Misty and Brock, will venture throughout the Kanto region, meeting Pokémon and dangers, and who knows. Maybe it’ll take them through the whole world!

Description of Paying respect to an old friend (Scene at the Pokémon Tower):

Ash and Company encounter Blue at the Pokémon Tower in Lavender Town. They ask him why he’s here. He says that he’s here to pay respect to a late Pokémon of his, Raticate. During his journey, Blue ended up freeing a few Pokémon from a Team Rocket truck, which then they were attacked by a group of grunts led by Petrel. Raticate ended up being poisoned and died out of stress and poisoning. This moment scarred Blue for life.
