First appeared in The Demon #1 in 1972 and was created by Jack Kirby. Etrigan is a demon, the son of the demon lord Belial, and the brother of the wizard Merlin. He was bonded to the human Jason Blood, who summons him by saying "Gone, gone the form of man...rise, rise the demon Etrigan."
