Lumière is the tritagonist from Disney's 1991 animated feature film, Beauty and the Beast. He is the Beast's kindhearted, charismatic, yet rebellious maître'd and Cogsworth's counterpart and rival, who was turned into an enchanted candelabra, due the Enchantress's curse.
He allows Belle's father, Maurice to come into the castle to stay, much to Cogsworth's objections. Later, he and Cogsworth both lure Belle to Maurice in hopes that she will break the spell. Lumière suggests to the Beast that he should give Belle more comfortable accommodations to stay in her own room instead of a cell and later tries to help the Beast become more civil with Belle in order to break the spell with the aid of Cogsworth and Mrs. Potts.
