You know how most period dramas seem to always be like in the Victorian and pre-WWI era? Why aren't there more period dramas on TV in other historical eras, like Ancient Egypt or the Roman Empire or Ancient Greece?

Eastern Europe in particular is full of cities with cobblestone streets and really old houses. It's cheap to produce and shoot there.
