it looks so bad, the text and layout is smaller and harder to read, everything is the same color. i'm concerned about this from an accessibility point. if it's hard to read i feel like people are gonna want to use it less.
just noticed this: new layout has made casting suggestion pics blurry/lower-res.
i was looking at a casting suggestion i had made and saw that the image appeared blurry in the gallery with all the other suggestions. i'd uploaded that photo myself and made sure when i did so that it was a good quality and resolution. when i went to the actor profile, the pic was the normal, high-res version that i'd remembered uploading.
i went looking and realized that this seems to actually apply to every suggestion on every story when you click on the name of the role and view all the suggestions for it. these pictures look normal when viewed anywhere else and i have no idea why they'd do this.
Also, the character roles on individual stories are huge as hell unlike the simplified layout before.
It does look disorganized and clunky af on mobile.
Individual stories' main page displays the character roles like that and it's like that as well on the roles, with the character image replacing the story's poster/thumbnail.
Also, YouTube links are not present on stories or roles even if you've entered them before. And you cannot delete role or restore deleted stories. I'd say that this new layout is more "complex" if anything.
However, I kinda like that we now have a stories watchlist and favorites. Seems to be one of the good things from the recent updates. Hoping for some good news, announcements, improvements, anything. We just have to wait and see.
Copied this from another post, but here's what one of the admins said:
"We had several issues we were working through with the past system and our advertisers wanted to see the site cleaned up from a content standpoint. We’ve worked with them and made the changes in order for us to start generating revenue again.
We are going to have an open work session with any super users that can make it next week to discuss in a positive way a happy medium of user experience and the new updates".
Idk if this is a good news or not. But just keep the forums updated for awhile. Hoping for some new announcements or smt.
Well I just hope these were all just "testing the waters" type of sh*t and they'll probably fix and improve it somehow.
EDIT: idk what happened, but I can't even edit a profile! The edit profile option is gone! It was there when I logged in and edit a few stuff, but then POOF! It just....gone!

Well, the bookmarks and the option to restore your deleted stories are back at least.
i'm honestly concerned about the readability of this site in the new layout. the text size for the title, subtitle, and plot summary on stories is tiny - i think the words "story plot" are bigger and easier to read than the title! the font is also very thin, and that plus the subtitle being grey against a black background is NOT a good combination for readability. on browser, i need to zoom in to at LEAST 150% for it to start to feel comfortable to read, and this is coming from someone who doesn't have significant vision problems. i can't imagine what it's like for folks with more severe visual impairment.
the tags on a story don't stand out at all, either, and like everything else they're much too small. when i'm browsing stories, they stand out because their little bubbles are bright blue - but then we run into the problem of the text contrast. there's a few websites that offer free text color contrast checkers. i used one on webaim dot org, and the blue background (#00b3e5) with white text (#ffffff) only had a contrast ratio of 2.44:1, which is considered a "fail" for readability.
as for the roles on stories, having the text overlaid on top of the images looks....bad. it's cutting off actors' heads (in fact, the images of suggested actors all seem to be cut off at both the top and bottom, meaning a lot of pictures that have been uploaded don't look very good), and, despite the small gradient, the text is hard to read on any images with a white background.
tldr; the new layout not only looks bad but it seems to be something of an accessibility nightmare.
