Okay...what if a character was added by mistake or you are certain that you no longer want to have the story in a shape or form? Is there really no option to straight up delete stories or characters you've created?

That is great to hear. I will say though that a problem, however small it may be, still exists if user has accidentally added a character with the same name twice. First off both listings of the character appear on the story page but the second listing links to the first. And once you manage to delete the first one the second cannot be deleted. I learned after attempting to delete a story of mine and all of the characters within it. The story, of course, cannot be permanently deleted and therefore ultimately neither can the two stuck characters.
