I kind of think a good idea for a function on this site would be to allow users to block certain actors from being suggested to stories. This would allow us to not have to block people after the fact and then unblock them if they add an unwanted role to a story.

I definitely agree with this! This would also help immensely with sockpuppet accounts suggesting the same particular role over and over again (something I've had trouble with personally, and I know other people have too).

When I joined MyCast, unfortunately i used to do this kind of thing, but got real and realized i was being a pain in the ass. Got better and I don't do that anymore.

My sentiments exactly, when I made a role for Badass Cartoon Character, many users voted Miraculous Ladybug. I'm not judging them based on their opinion on said character I can respect them liking her that much, but as the most cutting edge coolest character I had to disagree and restart.

I have a feeling that it was only one user. That Analuiza character who seems to use their clone accounts mainly for upvoting Ladybug and Millie Bobbie Brown.

Oh, so someone's already thought of it. Yeah, giving the option to blacklist certain actors would be an amazing feature (maybe they can have a "Ban Cast Members Of: [Insert Popular Franchise]) because it feels so reductive to have such a large pool of people to choose from only to pick Tom Holland or Dylan O'Brien again. And given that they're working with Legion M now and people's suggestions are actually influencing REAL productions, this would be such a useful feature.

Been thinking the same thing. Sometimes I'll check here to try to find fancasts for a gifset or video or something and it'll all be the same 5 actors in the same top 5 spots regardless of the fic.

Hard agree on this, because i sometimes don't like it when people casted super famous celebs on one of my stories that was meant to be a small tv series with limited budget. That's why i mostly cast underrated actors/actresses and not too many big names (imo, putting too many big name celebs is no good, but one could call this a personal preference)

(Replying to myself) 5 months late, but my opinion on this is that i think this would be a good choice if u don't want certain celebs to be suggested onto your specific story without having to block someone from the story. For example, let's say i want to have an all Japanese cast for my story and block any suggestions of non-Japanese actors (like Adam Sandler, Dwayne Johnson or K-Pop idols maybe), without having to block somebody from my story. Idk, kinda hard to explain it tbh.
