Maybe there should be moderators for actor photos. People like to go and change an actors photo when they don't like the actor or feel like they're being fan casted too often. Take Dylan O'Brien's current photo for example.
I know there are a lot of actors on here. Too many to moderate most likely. So maybe a 2-3 day review period instead? So people can suggest a picture update and during that the 2-3 days someone can decide if the picture should be replaced or not.
We have established guidelines of a "recent, high quality headshot." That isn't too specific regarding the proportion of the photo that should be covered by the face, or how recent it should be, but should deter full body shots or other inappropriate photos. For users that blatantly upload photos outside these guidelines, they will be banned from changing photos in the future. We are also in the process of implementing photo moderators; if you are interested in that, let us know here.
I'd be interested in becoming a photo moderator, and irrespective of my own personal preferences, I would pledge to uphold your rules.
That said, I do think there are some loopholes in your rules (i.e. "recent, high quality headshots") when it comes to long deceased or long retired actors, that probably need to be ironed out.
But for what it's worth, whenever I edit a photo, I only submit headshots, and following a request from a member a few weeks back, I try to make sure those photos are uniformly at least 50% actor's head.
I would ask however, that if we are only allowed to use recent photos, at least as far as working actors are concerned, that we please try to seek the most flattering photos possible, rather than ones that catch an actor on a bad day (i.e. photos that don't show them with particularly unkept facial hair or expose bad Botox/surgery).
