The New Mutants Trailer Promises It Is Coming Out This Time

A new trailer for The New Mutants was released and is for sure coming out this time. No backsies. The movie finished filming in 2017 and the first trailer was shown 2 years ago, but has been through the wringer with re-shoots, delays and false starts. Now that the Disney/Fox merger is complete the movie is finally coming out although it will now be rated PG-13. Director Josh Boone said the movie was always intended to be PG-13 although I am sure that is Disney speaking through him. It was long said to be an R-rated horror film with mutants from the X-Men universe so now it is a bit of a coincidence that it is PG-13 for a release after the merger. 

Either way the preview looks good as the previous one did. I am all for a horror vibe in the comic movie genre. Whether this movie will connect to anyhting in the MCU remains to be seen. Some rumors have said that some of the re-shoots were to put in connections to the MCU. I am thinking Disney is releasing this as a standalone to get it out and off the books like Dark Phoenix.

The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Alice Braga, Blu Hunt and Henry Zaga. It releases on April 3rd.
