The Evil Queen Takes Down The Clown Prince- Weekend Box Office October 18-20, 2019

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil opened at #1 with $36 million yet disappointed with its take. The sequel made $153 million worldwide which should seem solid until you see that the movie needs to make almost $500 million to break even with budget and marketing. That doesn't seem likely.

Joker fell to #2 with $29.2 million bringing its worldwide total to $738.5 million. The DC movie should pass Deadpool to become the highest grossing R-rated movie ever. Not bad for a film Warner Bros. may not have wanted and spent $55 million on. 

Zombieland: Double Tap opened third with $26.7 milion almost the same total the first film opened with in 2009. It shows that there is still some want for zombies, yet not like 10 years ago when The Walking Dead was the biggest thing on televison. 

Next week is light with the Naomie Harris cop drama Black & Blue before Terminator: Dark Fate opens the next week.
