New Poster For Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Released

The shadow of Palpatine looms.

A new poster for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was shown at the D23 conference where director JJ Abrams spoke and showed a sizzle reel for the final chapter of the Skywalker saga. The director said a new trailer was not ready and in lieu of that he brought footage including Rey and Kylo fighting on a ship in the ocean and Rey wielding a double lightsaber.

From the poster you can tell the presence of Palpatine promises to be a large aspect of the movie and we only have speculation and our own imagination to go on as to how the Emporor will be utilized. 

Disney is on the Star Wars rebuild hard at D23 with The Mandalorian coming in November and Ewan McGregor returning to play Obi-Wan in a Disney+ series. Let's hope JJ can bring a proper finish to the new trilogy.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker releases December 20th.
