It: Chapter 2 Almost Gets Hustled By Hustlers- Weekend Box Office September 13-15, 2019

Pennywise still floats to the top.

It: Chapter 2 repeated at #1 at the box office, but was almost taken down by Jennifer Lopez. The horror sequel grossed $40.7 million in its second weekend bringing the worldwide total to $323.3 million and the franchise as a whole has crossed $1 billion. Look forward to a lot more adaptations of King novels like Pet Semetary earlier this year. Not all of them will hit like It, but studios don't know until they try.

The big surprise this weekend was Jennifer Lopez's Hustlers coming in second with $33.2 million blowing away expectations. Critics love the movie with a 88% on Rotten Tomatoes and fans scored a B- on Cinemascore. The movie only had a budget of $20 million so it will all be good profit wise after its first weekend.

The Goldfinch came in came in 8th with $2.6 million. Critics have said that it may be one of the worst movies of the year. Looks like it will be quickly forgotten.

Next week is an odd yet strong week with the releases of Brad Pitt's space epic Ad Astra, Sylvester Stalllone's last go as Rambo and the return everyone named my mom has been waiting for with Downton Abbey.
