Football Is Here. Angel Has Fallen #1 Again- Weekend Box Office August 30- September 1, 2019

Technically a win.

The last week of August is normally on the low side at the box office because we become slaves to the wonder of football. This was true again this weekend as Angel Has Fallen was #1 again with only $11.5 million. The third movie of the Mike Banning Cinematic Universe has made its budget back so get ready for more secret service Leonidas.

Good Boys dropped only a small amount again with $9.1 million. The R-rated comedy keeps having small dips as its box office reaches $60 million. The Lion King and Hobbs & Shaw both brought in $6.7 million and $6.2 million respectively while Spider-Man: Far From Home made $4.2 million while it closes in on $400 million domestically.

The slow box office will only last until next weekend when It: Chapter 2 floats into theaters. The first movie surprised everyone in 2017 opening with $123 million because of brilliant marketing. Now the sequel should open higher with the conclusion of the story and a cast that now includes Bill Hader, James McAvoy and Jessica Chastain.
