He-Man and his hetero life mate Man-At-Arms

We are one step closer to having Jason Mewes voice Orko.

Kevin Smith has made his career in New Jersey, but now is heading to Eternia with a new animated series titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation. Smith will be the showrunner and executive producer. The series will be a direct continuation of the 80's series and tie up storylines and what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor.

The description of the series shines some light on what to expect:

"A radical return to Eternia, Revelation is a direct sequel series to the classic era of Masters of the Universe. Featuring fan favorites He-Man, Orko, Cringer and Man-At-Arms, the story pits our heroic warriors and guardians of Castle Grayskull against Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beastman and the vile legions of Snake Mountain!"

"But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it’s up to Teela to solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last. This is the epic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe saga fans have waited 35 years to see!"

As a kid that grew up in the height of He-Man popularity (before Ninja Turtles came along) this is something fans want. Masters of the Universe has long been in development for a new movie and nothing has moved ahead. Netflix knows how to hit the right spot for fans. Bring back He-Man and have Kevin Smith run the show. You let fans of the show have new adventures while the ultimate nerd is in charge.

No release date was given for the series. I am going to assume by the positive reaction online fans hope it is soon.
