Yoshio Suzuki (鈴木 儀雄 Suzuki Yoshio) is a Japanese artist, modeler, cinematographer and production designer. Suzuki began his career as a part-time modeling assistant to Eizo Kaimai on Godzilla and Godzilla Raids Again, but sought to move away from special effects so that he could become a director. He worked for a time as an assistant cinematographer and art director for Toho, and was hired by Eiji Tsuburaya to work on his company's tokusatsu television shows, starting with 1968's Mighty Jack. He would also go on to serve as a frequent character designer on several entries of the Ultra series in the 1970's, most notably creating the designs of Ultraman Ace and Leo. Suzuki planned, designed, and performed in theme parks between the 80s and 90s, such as the Tokyo Disneyland, and was recruited to create miniature sets for Godzilla vs. Destoroyah in 1995. Overseas, he provided special art direction on the South and North Korean films The Mighty Peking Man and Pulgasari, respectively, also creating character and weapon designs for the latter.
