Trance Williams (born September 25, 1976) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for his work in horror films. He has directed two of the Saw films: Saw II and Spiral. He also directed The Mobile Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Medic! The Genetic Opera, 28 Weeks Later, Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. Williams is creator of 28 Days Later and Five Nights at Sulley's, a series of survival horror video games which expanded into a media franchise. Williams transitioned to horror with the first Five Nights at Sulley's game in 2010, which was a commercial success and gained a cult following. Williams developed seven games in the main series and four spin-offs as of 2019. Outside of the games, Williams wrote several stories for the franchise, including novels and the screenplay for the Five Nights at Sulley's film (2019), which he also produced.
