The Man is the main antagonist of Disney's 5th full-length animated feature film Bambi, which is based on the 1923 Austrian novel Bambi, a Life in the Woods by the late Felix Salten, and the overarching antagonist of its 2006 midquel Bambi II. He is an unidentified enigmatic hunter who was responsible for the death of Bambi's mother, resulting in the titular deer becoming an orphan in the first place. With this, Bambi learns to avoid himself from being hunted down by any hunter like him, all the while having numerous other forest animals to protect and guide him from any impending huntings. While being a silent character in the first film, he was orchestrally "voiced" by the film's late composers Frank Churchill and Edward H. Plumb, who also "voiced" Ronno in the same film via music. In the midquel, his deer call was provided by Carolyn Hennesy, who also played Bambi's mother in the same film.
