The Maker

Once the heroic and bright-eyed Mister Fantastic,[3] young super-genius Reed Richards eventually descended into villainy as The Maker.[16] In an accident caused by his colleague Victor Van Damme, Richards was altered by the N-Zone alongside Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, Ben Grimm, and Victor himself, causing the former quartet to become the Fantastic Four and the latter to become their archnemesis Doctor Doom.[17] However, as Reed was proposing to Sue, the Ultimatum Wave struck, almost killing Sue, and Reed left her in a near-death state.[18] After she had woken up with Reed nowhere to be found,[19] Sue rejected his proposal and the Fantastic Four disbanded.[20] Reed's descent continued after moving back in with his abusive father Gary.[20] Embracing his worst impulses and even killing his entire family, he became "more Doctor Doom than Doctor Doom was" in his goal of perfecting the world. When Sue found out and attempted to kill Reed, he brutally assaulted her; Johnny burned and disfigured Reed's face in retribution.[21][22] Now calling himself the Maker, Reed built a helmet that covered most of his face, founded the Children of Tomorrow, and evolved them and himself for a thousand years. Together, they assaulted the world and destroyed Asgard, but they were ultimately stopped by Earth's heroes and the Maker was personally defeated by Sue.[23][24] Eventually, when the incursions were threatening the Multiverse, the Maker joined with Earth-616's Cabal and built a life raft to survive the final incursion, landing in Battleworld, but he was split apart by the Molecule Man and was scattered when the Multiverse was reborn as the Eighth Cosmos.[25][26][4] Although he has bodies across the reborn Multiverse, the Maker declared Earth-616 the Prime Universe since it was the first reality to be restored.[4][27] He later renewed his interest in his original reality of Earth-1610,[14] but more recently, he decided to shape his own, new reality: Earth-6160.[28]
